The ancient Chinese creator goddess Nüwa — a symbol of creation, renewal and the restoration of the sky — is the thread that runs through Kinga Csilla's newest collection. Creative Director Laura Liles drew on this mythology alongside her personal archive of vintage Japanese and Chinese textiles and antique pottery, pieces collected over years of travelling, looking and keeping. The result is a collection where history, craftsmanship and imagination meet on your body: pieces that feel like they carry a story, because they do.

The Colour Story
Colour in the Nüwa collection is never arbitrary. Sky-washed blues echo the heavens that Nüwa restored; rich crimson tones draw from the symbolism woven through Chinese culture and mythology. The palette holds together across every piece in the delivery — from the deep Zaffre blue of the hand block-printed cotton to the electric cobalt of the Rin Hades Pant and Sunset Tee, and the softer cornflower of the Pomiciare Canto Knit Jumper. Even the softest piece in the collection — the Ophelia Slinky Singlet in Baby Blue — belongs to the same chromatic conversation.
The Block-Print Story: Zaffre
Zaffre Block Print Chalm Shirt
The Zaffre Chalm Shirt is where the collection's artisan commitment is most visible. The print is two different Indian block-print stamps applied by hand to a single piece of recycled cotton voile — an organic vine of stems, leaves and sunflower heads on one side; a structured lattice of oval arches, each framing a bouquet of pink and mauve blooms, on the other. Two stamps, two stories, one shirt.
Because every print is applied by hand, each shirt is its own: placement shifts, ink absorbs differently, the density varies from stamp to stamp. Artisan-made means exactly that — no two pieces are identical. The fabric is recycled cotton voile: lightweight, breathable, with a slightly textured surface that machine printing can't replicate. A camp collar, relaxed button-front fit, and enough structure to work tucked or untucked.
Zaffre Block Print Fae Frill Skort
The Fae Frill Skort takes the same two Zaffre block-print stamps and rearranges them into a completely different argument. The upper panel carries the lattice bouquet — structured and even. The double-tiered frills below carry the organic vine — loose, flowing, catching movement. It's the same print family working in two registers at once, and the effect is more than the sum of its parts.
Built-in inner shorts and an elastic waistband make it a genuinely practical piece. The frill overlay adds visual length and volume without adding weight, and it pairs directly with the Chalm Shirt for a full set that reads deliberate rather than matchy.
The Knitwear Story: Pomiciare
Pomiciare Canto Knit Jumper - Blue
In a collection full of blue, the Pomiciare's cornflower tone is the softest — the blue you'd reach for on an uncertain morning when you want colour but not volume. The relaxed crochet-inspired knit gives the surface a gentle texture and the exaggerated bell sleeve broadens through the forearm in a way that moves beautifully and photographs even better. The Kinga Csilla signature patch on the right sleeve — golden tan, understated — is the only graphic detail on the whole piece. A natural-fibre knit that relaxes and softens with every wear.
The Sportswear Story: Blue on Blue
Sunset Tee - Blue
The Sunset Tee is the graphic piece at the everyday end of the Nüwa delivery. "KINGA" arches across the chest in athletic lettering that gradient-fades from silver-grey to cobalt; a deep crimson starburst burns at the centre; "CSILLA" sits below in a blue that moves from rich to bright. A sun over the brand name. The sky Nüwa restored.
Narrow tan contrast panels run down the raglan sleeves — a detail that rewards a second look. At 100% cotton with a relaxed boxy fit, it's the piece you reach for without thinking.
Rin Hades Pant - Blue
The Rin Hades Pant is the reason the Sunset Tee exists. Together they're a full cobalt set: electric blue on electric blue, with the large "KC" appliqué patch — embroidered in off-white on a tan-gold ground — as the graphic statement of the pant. A wide straight leg, elasticated waist with tan drawstring, and a silhouette that reads elevated sportswear from five metres away. These two pieces are one outfit, and it's a strong one.
The Everyday Piece: Ophelia
Ophelia Slinky Singlet - Baby Blue
Every collection needs a piece that slots into everything else, and in Nüwa, it's the Ophelia. A fitted, body-skimming singlet in Baby Blue — a soft, sky-adjacent tone with a silver-blue undertone — with a deep scoop neckline, wide straps and a silver snap placket running down the front. The elasticated banded hem gathers softly at the hip and gives the silhouette a shape that's fitted without being restrictive. Wear it on its own, tuck it into the Rin Hades Pant, or layer it under the Zaffre Chalm Shirt for a tonal blue moment.
The Long Sleeve Graphic: Lantern Tommy Tee
Lantern Tommy Tee - Charcoal
The Lantern Tommy Tee is the collection's most expressive piece. The artwork covers the full front — and the sleeves — in a dense composition of Kinga Csilla text rendered in Japanese katakana, kanji and English across multiple fonts and display styles. "KINGA CSILLA" in bold; きんが in clean katakana; かわいい scattered through the layout; the name fragmented and reassembled a dozen different ways. Every element in a different colour: red, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple. Blue topstitching at the neckline, cuffs and seams ties it to the Nüwa palette.
The tee itself is midweight 100% cotton, relaxed in fit, and built to hold its print. Wash inside out every time.
